1-2 million people die every year in developing countries because they have limited access to life-saving medical technology such as implantation of highly expensive pacemakers.
STIM développement is an association constituted in accordance with the French law of 1901. It is devoted to promote medical and humanitarian actions for patients in developing countries in the fields of rhythmology and cardiac rhythm management (CRM) devices. It serves two main purposes:

  1. Implanting free pacemakers for underprivileged patients who cannot afford such medical therapy. In the developing countries, pacemakers are implanted by voluntary cardiologists, within the framework of technical assistance and teaching missions.
  2. Collecting, shipping and donating pacemakers in developing countries by experienced medical teams

STIM développement is committed to developing a genuine partnership together with hospitals in developing countries so that improvements can be achieved in the field of cardiac rhythm management (CRM).
